Equipment

  • Non-stick skillet or grill pan
  • Spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Thermometer
  • Serving platter

Ingredients

  • Beyond Beef Burger Patties: 2 patties about 4 ounces each
  • Burger Buns: 2 whole-grain or gluten-free buns
  • Lettuce: 1 cup of fresh lettuce leaves such as romaine or spinach
  • Tomato: 1 medium tomato sliced
  • Onion: 1/2 medium red onion thinly sliced
  • Pickles: 1/4 cup of dill pickles sliced
  • Avocado: 1 ripe avocado sliced (optional)
  • Vegan Cheese: 2 slices of your favorite plant-based cheese optional
  • Condiments: Ketchup and mustard to taste
  • Oil: 1 tablespoon of olive oil for cooking patties

Instructions

  • Prepare Your Grill or Pan – If you’re grilling, preheat your grill to medium heat. For stove cooking, heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil to prevent sticking.
  • Cook the Patties – Place the Beyond Beef patties on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned and heated through. You want them crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside.
  • Toast the Buns – While the patties are cooking, you can toast your burger buns. Place them on the grill for a minute or two, or use the skillet until they’re lightly golden. This step adds extra crunch and flavor to your burger.
  • Assemble Your Burger – Start with the bottom bun. Add a layer of fresh lettuce followed by the cooked Beyond Beef patty. Top it with sliced tomatoes, pickles, red onions, and avocado or guacamole for creaminess.
  • Add Cheese and Condiments – If you’re using vegan cheese, place a slice on top of the hot patty so it melts slightly. Then, drizzle your favorite condiments like ketchup, mustard, or vegan mayo.
  • Complete the Burger – Finish by placing the top bun on your creation. Give it a gentle press to hold everything together.

Notes

Cooking Beyond Beef patties over medium heat allows for even cooking and a nice crust. Avoid high heat, as it can dry them out. Don’t be shy with condiments. Try making a homemade vegan aioli or spicy sriracha sauce to add an extra kick.
