Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Oven Mitts
  • Serving Dish or Plate

Ingredients

  • Brussels Sprouts – 1 pound trimmed and halved
  • Olive Oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Balsamic Vinegar – 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Honey – 1 tablespoon
  • Red Chili Flakes optional for an added kick – 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

  • First, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Take the Brussels sprouts, cut off the ends, and slice them in half. This helps them cook evenly and lets the flavors get in. Put the halved Brussels sprouts in a bowl to season.

Step 2: Season the Sprouts

  • Add olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to the bowl with the Brussels sprouts. If you like a sweet and spicy taste just drizzle some honey on the sprouts and sprinkle a bit of red chili flakes. Mix everything well so the Brussels sprouts are coated with the seasoning.

Step 3: Roast to Perfection

  • Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer. This helps them cook evenly, getting crispy on the outside and tender inside. Put the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the sprouts for about 20 to 25 minutes. You can shake the baking sheet halfway through to help them cook evenly.

Step 4: Serve

  • Once they are roasted to a golden brown with a delightful crispness, remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven. Transfer them to a serving dish and let them cool for a minute.

Notes

When making Brussels sprouts like those at Outback Steakhouse, remember that fresh and good-quality ingredients really boost the flavor. Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet so they roast evenly and get crispy. Finally, feel free to try different seasonings to make the dish your own.
