Instructions
 

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Step 2: Prepare the Streusel Filling

  • In a small bowl, mix 1 cup chopped pecans, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 2 tsp cinnamon, and 2 tbsp reserved cake mix. Stir until well combined. Set aside for later.

Step 3: Mix the Cake Batter

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining cake mix, 1 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup water, 4 eggs, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla. Beat with a whisk or electric mixer until smooth. The batter will be thick and creamy.

Step 4: Layer the Batter and Filling
